Sandi studied and graduated from the New York Institute of Photography. She had planned a career in the nature and stock photography field. Then an invitation to shoot a rodeo changed everything. After experiencing the ability and joy of capturing the
strength, intensity, and excitement of the sport of rodeo through powerful images, she knew this was one of the directions she wanted her career to go.
She is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) as well as
the Texas Professional Photographers of America (TPPA).
Sandi and Freeman meet in church even before elementary school. Growing up in
the same neighborhood they became schoolmates and friends all the way thru high school.
They married in 1972 and raised three sons then moved from the Houston area to “the country” in 1997.
Freeman just naturally gravitated to the digital darkroom part of the business when Sandi switched from film. This has been an evolution of sorts in a field that is constantly evolving. There seems to be an unending flow of knowledge and techniques that need to
be managed. By continually studying and researching digital workflow, he is able to keep up with most of the technology and still have time for the nature photography that he loves.
Working as a team Sandi and Freeman are producing high quality photographs for the world to enjoy. Their goal is to create powerful and exciting images of both human and animal athlete’s as they strive for perfection within the sport of rodeo and equestrian events. It is thru this media that they work to create lasting memories for the athletes and their families, that will last for generations to come.
